Squeeze will headline a gig for the Teenage Cancer Trust at London’s Royal Albert Hall later this month. What makes the benefit gig unique, is that this will be a first because the band will be using specially designed instrument by British art hero, Damien Hirst.
Hirst designed two guitars and a drum set which will be used in the upcoming concert. he hand painted each instrument with his trademark polka dots.
The gig will raise money for the cancer trust, then Squeeze will auction off the hand-painted instruments to raise more money, also aiding an additional cancer foundation. Christie’s will auction off the instruments, selling a guitar and the drums in April and the remaining piece going on the block in September.
